Antonia Bryson, Director of EV’s New York Outreach, co-authored with Joanna Underwood the 2006 INFORM report, New York City‘s Commercial Waste Hauling Fleets: An Opportunity for New York City to Ensure Cleaner Quieter Waste Collection Operations.
Ms. Bryson is a practicing attorney who, for the last decade, ran the Urban Environmental Law Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping community groups and low-income individuals fight local environmental problems and advocate for improvement of their environment. She was formerly Deputy Commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection in charge of New York City’s air and noise pollution control and hazardous materials programs. She led one of the largest programs in the country seeking to convert vehicles to alternative fuels. Prior to her service with the DEP, she founded and served as head of the environmental department of the New York City Law Department, which provides advice and legal assistance to all city agencies on environmental matters and pursues and defends lawsuits relating to the city’s environment.
Ms. Bryson presently serves as chair of the Export Committee of the Manhattan Citizens Solid Waste Advisory Board. She was a European Environmental Fellow of the German Marshall Fund and received the 2005 National Preservation Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation for her work in helping to preserve Governor’s Island. She graduated magna cum laude from Brown University and received her law degree from New York University.
James S. Cannon

James S. Cannon is an internationally recognized researcher, author, and speaker on energy, environmental, and related public policy issues. He is also the President of Energy Futures, an energy and environmental research organization in Boulder, CO, serving nonprofit, government, and industry clients. Energy Futures also publishes two international periodicals, the quarterly The Clean Fuels and Electric Vehicles Report and the bimonthly Hybrid Vehicles.
Between l989 and 2005, as a staff member or consultant to INFORM, Jim Cannon authored or co-authored nine transportation reports that have been widely used references by government, business and environmental leaders in many countries. Many are now being distributed by Energy Vision:

Jim Cannon received an A.B. degree in chemistry from Princeton University, and an M.S. degree in biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
Joseph Lacey
Research Assistant and IT Coordinator
Joseph Lacey, Research Assistant and IT Coordinator for Energy Vision, has a varied background including experience in project management, policy research, information technology and teaching.
Prior to working with Energy Vision, he served as Director of Research and Information Technology for Active Citizen Project, a non-profit program in New York City. He prepared written interviews and compiled statistics identifying shifts being made in government budgeting policies and analyzing the economic, educational and housing impacts these were having on certain marginalized groups including minority students, low-wage workers, first- and second-generation immigrants, and the incarcerated. This research was used internally in subsequent interviews and published on the Internet.
Before this, Lacey worked at Furman University, in Greenville, South Carolina, at its Information Technology Department and the James B. Duke Library, managing the on-campus Help Desk and assisting in the administration of databases and research tools. He has also worked in quality assurance testing of web-based applications, production of audio and video shorts, and network administration.
In pursuit of his interest in politics, language and international travel, Lacey studied history and politics and learned German at the Akademie für Internationale Bildung, in Bonn, Germany and studied art and writing and learned French at the Université Paul Valéry, Institut d’Etudes Françaises, in Montpellier, France. In 2003 and 2004, he taught literature, English grammar, philosophy and history at Shanghai High School, International Division, in Shanghai, China.
In 2001, Lacey received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, cum laude from Furman University, and was the 2001 Recipient of the Philosophy Medal. Having completed the requirements in September 2007, he will receive his Master of Arts in Philosophy from the New School for Social Research in New York City in the winter of 2008.
